Land Rover Chicago participated in Land Rover TReK 2020, Land Rover North America's off-road driving skills competition. The competition was held this year during the launch of the highly anticipated New Land Rover Defender!

For Land Rover TReK 2020, Land Rover Chicago was represented by Chris Kowalik from Sales, Pat Land from Parts, and Brandon Marroquin from Service. The team went head to head against 53 three-person Land Rover retailer teams, in a number of team and group challenges. Each team competed in a series of 53 identically prepared, custom-built 2020 Land Rover Discovery SUVs for the Regional Trials taking place at the Land Rover Experience Center at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina.
The History of Land Rover TReK

Land Rover TReK 2020 is a two-day competition, comprised of a regional event and final event, for Land Rover retailer staff designed to educate and challenge sales, service and technician personnel with a variety of first-hand off-road experiences and challenges. The competition combines skills testing in off-road driving, navigation and team collaboration to test some of the best off-road driving experts across the U.S. and Canada. The winning team from each sales region will then head to the TReK Finals.

Originally established in 1996, TReK was held annually through 2003 to enhance the off-road skills of retailer staff throughout the country. TReK was expanded to include other retailers outside of the U.S. in the first global competition held in South Africa in 2001. In 2003, the last Land Rover TReK took place in Colorado, before going on hiatus until the 2019 Regional Trials.
